The active ingredient for Loperamide HCI is Loperamide Hydrochloride. Effective in controlling chronic functional (idiopathic) diarrhea and chronic diarrhea caused by bowel resection or organic lesions. Loperamide HCI is used to treat sudden diarrhea (including traveler's diarrhea). This anti-diarrheal medication works by slowing down gut movement. Decreasing the number of bowel movements makes the stool less watery.
